Camp FAQs

Safety Information

Please note that safety is our #1 priority and all athletes must be able to swim as rowing boats do occasionally flip. Our coaches have life jackets on their motorboats with them in the event of an emergency but they cannot be worn while rowing.

Location

Our camps are held at our boathouse on Glen Island. Our boathouse does not have a street address but you can use this link here for directions to our boathouse.

Written directions: once you reach Glen Island, cross the bridge at the end of Weyman Ave. onto the island. Stay to the right until you reach the guard house where they check for parking passes. Let them know you are dropping off a rower. Take the immediate right from the guardhouse and continue into the parking lot. Our boathouse is a red brick and grey building on the water side of the parking lot (next to the playground).

Parking

There is a parking lot right next to the boathouse on Glen Island. You will be given a parking pass on the first day to use for the duration of the program. These will be collected by your coach on the last day of the program so please do not misplace them. Unreturned parking passes will result in a $100 fine.

What to Wear & Bring

We recommend all rowers wear a hat or some form of sun protection, socks, sneakers they don't mind getting wet, and athletic, fitted clothes to avoid getting the equipment/oars caught on any loose clothes. Please bring 2 filled water bottles and a towel as well.

Inclement Weather Plan

Our coaches keep a close eye on the weather each week. If they decide the forecast looks unsafe for rowing one day we will move practice indoors to our indoor rowing studio, located at 89 Wolfs Ln. Pelham. We will notify you via email with as much advance notice as possible. Camp is not canceled due to rain & will only be canceled if it is unsafe to travel (i.e. extreme weather conditions).
