Masters Winter 2017-2018 Programming Information
PCRA Winter training begins November 27th at our new indoor training facility located in the New Rochelle YMCA! We are thrilled to offer a Learn to Row program for adults this winter in addition to our Masters Rowing program. Please see below for all the details on our adult programs.
Our new indoor training facility is located in the New Rochelle YMCA at 50 Weyman Avenue. The YMCA will provide PCRA athletes in our winter program with a dedicated space to train and erg. All athletes will also have access to the fitness equipment available at its full-service gym, including a pool, weights, showers, sauna, basketball court and a variety of classes and activities.
All PCRA athletes participating in winter programming are required to become individual members of the New Rochelle YMCA for the duration of our winter program. The YMCA is prorating the fee for the month of November and waiving the sign-up fee for all PCRA members.

All masters programs are open to adults 18-100. Join us for cross-training, rowing on an erg, dynamic movement and flexibility. We believe in training the whole body for a functional life.

Learn To Row
This is an introductory class for people with no rowing experience. The focus will be on technique, fitness, flexibility, and fun. All ages and fitness levels welcome.

Spring 2018 Programming Information Coming Soon
Masters Program Offered Year-Round
Our Masters Intermediate/Recreational class is for those rowers who have some experience with rowing but are not yet ready for (or interested in) rowing competitively. The course offers coached instruction typically in shells designed for 2 or 4 people, as well as singles rowing. Practice times are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 7:15am or 8:45am. This is a great course to practice and improve in a fun and friendly environment.
This course is for Master rowers who are interested in competing. PCRA has competitive Masters of all abilities, from those that have rowed through college and on the national level, to Masters who have discovered a new sport and enjoy the camaraderie of regattas and the challenge of competition. Practice times are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 5:30am or 7:15am.
Learn To Row
We are always looking for people interested in learning what rowing is all about. Rowing is a wonderful activity, available to people of all ages. It is a challenging, rewarding, team-based sport, and it doesn’t hurt that we row in a beautiful setting on the Orchard Beach lagoon. These lessons are for people who are new to the sport, as well as anyone who wants individual coaching to work on a certain skill.
Private lessons for Masters run 1.5 hours and are scheduled through PCRA’s Masters coach Jane Detwiler (email@example.com) with the coach of your choice.
$80 for 1 person
$100 for 2 people (2x)
$120 for 4 people (4x)
It is preferable for private lessons to be paid by check, payable to PCRA, with the coaches name noted.
